We have a deep desire to serve the individual residents in our communities. This is our home too, and we want to be there for you when you are ready to recycle your electronics responsibly.
Did you know:
- Electronics are no longer allowed in your trash or landfills as of July 2013. Click here to find out more.
- Dumping your electronics on the street or on private property is illegal, and it affects every resident by the hazards that can leak into our groundwater.
- Your data is at risk when you don’t recycle with a responsible and insured recycler.
Did you know?
Electronics contain heavy metals, including lead, mercury, cadmium, and hexavalent chromium that is harmful if released into the environment. Recycling your electronics ensures that these materials are safely managed and that valuable materials such as steel, glass, and plastic, as well as precious metals such as copper, gold, tin, silicon, and aluminum are reclaimed for the manufacturing of new products. Reusing and recycling raw materials from e-waste, conserves natural resources and avoids toxic pollutants from seeping into our grounds and drinking water.
Increased regulations and a better understanding of the environment dictate that many materials in e-waste simply can’t be tossed in a landfill. In fact Colorado state law, https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/cdphe/information-residential-electronics-and-computer-waste requires the safe disposal of e-waste due to the hazardous elements within electronic items that can cause real and lasting damage to our natural environment and public health.
From lead to mercury to cadium to arsenic—e-waste contains a number of toxic elements that must be disposed of safely and kept out of our landfills.
We know paying to recycle your old electronics is a bill no one enjoys paying, but your payment helps us employ people, pay for the warehouse space needed for storing the electronics, and it affords us the incredible insurance rates we are dealt due to handling your data items. It’s hard work to recycle, thank you for honoring us with your payment.
