Host an E-Waste Recycling Event
The cost of our tech recycling services is $250.00 per hour with a minimum two-hour event at $500.00. Your venue and organization will be included as a certificate holder on our general liability insurance for the duration of the event. When you choose our local electronics recycling services, it includes:
- Recycling universal or small electronic waste
- Recycling computers and laptops
- Hard drive shredding
- Informational enviro-signs for traffic lanes
- Traffic cones
- Labor of two E-Tech Recyclers staff members
- Totes-Gaylord boxes
- Wrap and pallets for items
- One 20’ box truck with a lift gate
- One commercial weight scale
Possible Fees to Expect
It’s important to note that the cost of TVs and monitors is not included in the price of our electronic recycling event services. You may choose to pay these fees for visitors at the rate of $0.47 per pound. If you choose to not pay the fee, each customer will pay for their sets. Some of the other fees you may need include:
- $275.00 per extra 26’ box truck
- $375.00 forklift fee if required (not necessary for under 650 vehicles)
- $15.00 per hour per additional manpower required
Fundraise for Your Business
You can charge an entrance fee from $5.00 to $20.00 per car. You may also request a donation from those who attend the event. 100% of these funds collected will remain with you.
If you opt not to cover TV and monitor fees, we can charge up to $0.59 per pound with any excess over $0.47 going back to you. You can also choose to charge to up $0.35 per pound for universal or small electronics and all of the funds will stay with you. Be careful not to make your visitors feel overcharged.
You can also ask other local businesses to sponsor your e-waste recycling event for $50.00 to $100.00 each to reduce your out-of-pocket expenses. If you get sponsors, their logo should be on all marketing pieces you create.

Your tech recycling event will be featured on our website and Facebook page but you can boost your marketing outreach through the following formats:

When to Host Your Event
To attract more visitors, plan your event between June and November, on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm to try to avoid extreme weather conditions that may prevent the community from attending. Also, try to avoid scheduling your e-waste recycling event during county events, corporate functions, or holidays to maximize attendance.
Tips for Making Your Event Successful
Larger Events
For larger events, pre-registration is required to determine the necessary resources and personnel. Events exceeding 200 vehicles are classified as large and require staff reinforcement from you.
Meet and Greet
To interact one-on-one with visitors and promote your organization, set up a food and beverage area near parking for a meet and greet experience.
Greet and Go!
For a quick interaction, provide visitors with informational bags filled with your materials while their electronics are being collected.
Where Electronics Will Go After Your Event
Televisions will be recycled at Com2 Recycling in Peoria, Illinois. Computers, laptops, and servers will go to our E-Tech Learning Center for training students and people with developmental disabilities before being shipped to IRT Recycling in Minnesota. LCD monitors will be refurbished at IQA Metals in California. Universal waste will be sent to All Recycling in Denver. Hard drives and data items will be shredded at our facility, and your organization will receive certifications for recycling and destruction.
